Friday Random Ten, el primero

All the cool kids are doing it. So after many months of voyeurism, I decided to give it a try. But I put a little poetic spin on it. I opened all the spoken word tracks I have ripped to my computer, put ‘em on shuffle, and pressed play. This is what came out:

1: “The Revolution Will Not Be Televised” by Gil Scott-Heron, from Small Talk at 125th & Lenox
~The Revolution will not be televised, brothers, the revolution will be live.~

2: from “The Charge of the Light Brigade” by Alfred, Lord Tennyson, from Poetry Speaks (disc 1)

3: “Mexican Loneliness” read by Matt Dillon w/Joey Altruda & Joe Gonzalez, from Kerouac: Kicks Joy Darkness

4: “The Brooklyn Bridge Blues (Choruses 1-9)” read by Allen Ginsberg, from Kerouac: Kicks Joy Darkness
~I am the perfect man, the Buddha of this world.~

5: “The Star in the Hills” by William Stafford, from Poetry Speaks (disc 2)

6: “Places, Loved Ones” by Philip Larkin, from Poetry Speaks (disc 3)

7: “Small Talk at 125th & Lenox” by Gil Scott-Heron, from Small Talk at 125th & Lenox

8: “Nothing So Far” by Laura (Riding) Jackson, from Poetry Speaks (disc 2)

9: “Hugh Selwyn Maugerly II, IV, and V” by Ezra Pound, from Poetry Speaks (disc 1)

10: “High School Drag” by Phillipa Fallon, from The Beat Generation (disc 3)
~Tomorrow is dragsville, cats. Tomorrow is a king-sized drag.~
