I *heart* FRT almost as much as memes… it’s one of my favorite things about blogging… but anyway…

As mentioned a few posts ago, the short story that I’m writing takes place in the 90s… so to get in the mood, I’ve been queing up all the 90s-era Rhapsody playlists I could find. This morning I put it on shuffle and here’s what came out. The good. The bad. The “how in the world did this get on the radio?!?!”

1. “Name” by the Goo Goo Dolls

2. “Tonight, Tonight” by The Smashing Pumpkins

3. “Strong Enough” by Sheryl Crow

4. “Wrong Way” by Sublime

5. “Jane Says” by Janes Addiction

6. “I Don’t Want to Wait” by Paula Cole

7. “Follow You Down” by Gin Blossoms

8. “Who Will Save Your Soul” by Jewel

9. “Something’s Always Wrong” by Toad the Wet Sprocket

10. “All Mixed Up” by 311

Favorite song on this list: Somethings Always Wrong… “another game of putting things aside, as if we’ll come back to them sometime…”

Song I loathe will all my being: “Who will save your soul”… Not only is the song total shite, I’ve still got a bone to pick with Jewel because of her book of “poetry.” Really, how many poets get their face put on the cover of their books???

Band I didn’t appreciate at the time: The Smashing Pumpkins… I dunno… it felt like there was so much hype… they just kind of annoyed me. But now when I listen to the music, I realize its pretty decent. Although, I’m not so sure about Billy Corgan having a book of poems published, either. Has anyone read it? I’m inclined to suspect that its crap, but that could be unfair.

Bands I still don’t understand: 311 & Sublime. Seriously, can someone explain it to me?

not satisfied? check out howard for another FRT.
